Abstract

This research study seeks to find out the information flow between the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and students especially during the digital age and the reasons why information reception and dissemination is necessary in such an environment. Theories reviewed in the study were the Media Richness and Information Processing theories which dealt with how humans process information and the relevance of Computer/social media platforms in information management. One hundred students of Mass communication department constituted the research respondents. Cluster sampling technique was used in selecting population used and the respondents were selected randomly from those who were willing to answer and fill questionnaires sent to students’ on-line platforms in the department of Mass Communication. Data collected through the questionnaires were subjected to statistical analysis using the SPSS (2011). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlational analysis.
