Abstract
Presently, renewable energy sources are thought of as alternative means to ensure energy generation and security. A case study in Nigeria has shown that there is a high potential for solar power development and it is at topmost demand especially in the south west region. However, not all solar power plants have the equivalent power generation efficiency. This is an essential parameter that clearly determines the level of functionality of the power plant for rooftop and ground mounted installation. Reliability engineers involving in using this renewable source of energy need to cross-examine the influencing and considerable factors that play critical roles in power generation for optimum efficiency in solar power plant system. Therefore, this paper states the influencing factors associated with photovoltaic system in a densely populated cities where solar energy implementation are carried out, effect of radiation pressure on surface area of the Photovoltaic (PV) system with observable equations to determine efficient power optimization due to open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current and the fill factor.
