Abstract
In this paper the properties of Differential Transform Method (DTM) and Matched asymptotic Expansion (MAE) Perturbation method are first presented. The properties of the methods presented are then applied to some selected linear homogeneous and non-homogeneous boundary value problems (bvp) which have perturbation parameter multiplying the highest derivative. The selected boundary value problems are solved with both methods and the results are then compared with each other. The solutions to the selected boundary value problems are graphically presented while the similarities and differences of the methods are also discussed in the paper. The results showed that both methods are effective and capable of solving boundary value problem which have a perturbation quantity multiplying the highest derivative in a given problem and also reveal the complementing usefulness of both methods for the homogeneous and non-homogeneous boundary value problems.
