Abstract

Data communications encompass the transmission of data within media. Conversion from analog to digital involves series of processes in which noise serves as a disturbance in digital modulation. This paper describes a simulation scenario in which an analog signal is received, analyzed using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), filtered to eliminate the noise and digitalized using PCM technique to be transmitted over the telephone lines. FFT is used to analyze the wave and design the filters to clear the wave before conversion from analog to digital. The simulation was implemented with Matlab codes.
